Chimney Repairs | Renovate your chimney with adding years of life and beauty.

The chimney is the very established part of the kitchen. When people think of chimneys, they think of fireplaces. The main purpose of a chimney is to draw smoke and gases away from the fire and out of your home. A well performing chimney has sufficient draft to pull smoke out of home, supply enough oxygen for burning, and complete burning of wood to occur. It is essential that chimney is of correct type and style for the stove and it should be installed properly in the home in compliance with building codes and manufacturer instructions.

The purpose of chimney is to take away harmful byproducts created, when fuel is burned, and it must carry excessive heat away from combustible items near the fire. Besides being cleaned and inspected, occasional chimney repairs will also need to ensure that, it is performing properly. The earliest chimneys were large, crude structures serving a single fire but as more fireplaces were necessary, chimneys became smaller and more efficient. Chimneys must be inspected annually for health and safety reasons. If your fireplace is used often, this may need to be done more often depending on use.

Chimney repair requires specific techniques, skills and specialized tools. All chimney repairs are done from inside the home in order to control the dust and soot. All wood & coal stoves are swept from inside or outside the home with dust control. On top of the roof line the chimney stack is exposed to the full force of the weather. A dirty chimney or fireplace can cause chimney fires and contribute to air pollution. An existing chimney repair is the most practical and affordable way to fix a deteriorated or damaged chimney.

If the chimney does not have a liner, or it has cracked or deteriorated, it will need to be replaced.  For chimney repairs, the liner must be properly sized to your heating appliance, and must be made of the right material to ensure a long and safe lifetime. If you have loose bricks or mortar on your chimney, you are at risk of roof damage or other damage, so chimney repair or renovation is must. Chimney needs to be cleaned and properly maintained, if you wish for it to keep on working the way it was projected.
